Well, I've waited almost 10 years to see a lot of flowers on this, my street tree. The flowers have started to open but are a little hard to photograph at the moment. I'm impatient an they have just barely opened. I can see little pink spots up near the top of the tree. please note each of the round objects in the limbs is a flower in some state of opening.

I removed one flower that was low enough for me to reach and brought it inside for it's close-up.

It may not be spectacular but the only trees that are blooming at the moment in Michigan are members of the witch hazel family. These flowers don't look like the other witch hazels and I'll include another oddity in a few weeks, a winter hazel.
