more parking

So I got to school without a gate card because Monday night the machine ate it and didn't let me out. Today I took my ticket at the machine and went in and went to Parking Services to retrieve my card and have it fixed. They proclaimed with smiles that my card had indeed been repaired and all was good now. So I went to class and tortured students with a quiz. Gave said quizzes and finally left school. I went to a booth with a person on exiting the ramp which was good because again the machine declared my card had an invalid format and kept the card. So I talked to the person and got out of the ramp.

I will repeat this again on Wednesday. Oh joy.

operation hilarity

My favorite part is Operation Hilarity.

I as a good Michigan Democrat am voting in the Republican primary. I was wondering which "not-Mitt" I was going to vote for but hey this sounds like fun! I already have my absentee ballot, so let the voting begin.

Virginia seems poised to enact a law that requires women to have a medically unnecessary trans-vaginal ultrasound before they get an abortion. Last time I looked inserting a foreign object in a woman's vagina WITHOUT her consent was rape. !!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!!!!

parking day three

Went into school and went directly to Parking Services. They greeted me by name! They read the info off the card and scratched their collective heads. They took the card and said they would look into the problem. I asked then and in the past to confirm that the card had been set up as a ramp pass (for faculty to use the ramp and not pay an hourly fee costs $400 a year). I have a State of Michigan endorsement that means I don't have to pay for parking. You need to prove you are a "super gimp" and fill out way more paperwork with way more doctor signatures to get this.

They gave me a "get out of jail card" for tonight and said to stop by tomorrow.

A couple of hours later a guy found me in my class and gave me my card back. He said the problem was the chip had never been coded as a ramp pass even thought I asked on numerous occasions over three days that this be done. Ya team. This guy actually went out and tried the card before he gave it back to me.
